Plath’s Lady Lazarus talks of killing oneself through one’s body while The Beatles’ Tomorrow Never Knows talks of killing one’s self through one’s own ego. 

By corporeally dying that day in the war, Dick Whitman resurrects himself as Don Draper. However, in the ensuing existential crisis of identity which follows, a notion which brings him to the precipice of the abyss over and over again, is killing oneself through the body enough?

Does he also need to kill the illusory nature of the ego which will put to rest the question of “Who am I?”

For without the ego, there is no “I” and there is no past. Just being.  

Don can be the next Patrick Bateman.

Paris Fashion Week is turning it OUT this season, and for the first time ever we have absolutely no review. Can we all just join hands and rejoice in the sheer and utter perfection that 25 year old Balmain designer, Olivier Rousteing, has created?
